Seconds Trounce Herriard

Oakley  put on an an excellent display of bowling and fielding on Saturday to blitz Herriard two’s on a horrible pitch that was bordering on unplayable.

Top of the wicket takers was Naveen Velumani with 4 for 16, closely followed by Dan Sumner (3 for 5) Lance Van Dyk (2 for 8) with Callum Van Dyk finishing with 1 for 0.

The bowlers were aided by some great stuff in the field with Gordon Scott, Paul Ciuffetelli and Dan Beckall all taking excellent catches to leave Herriard in tatters at 29 all out.

Despite the state of the pitch Oakley knocked off the required runs without much fuss in seven overs with Dan Beckall and Julian Worthington both finishing on 13 not out.

With cancellations and waterlogged pitches it has been a bit of a rough start for the seconds, so to get a win was really important for the confidence of the team.

Well done all.

Up the Oaks!
