Some fairly serious numbers on the board this week.
Josh Carpenter reminded everyone of his class by smashing a magnificent 146, leaving Kunal Solanki feeling ever so slightly hard done by in second place after the small matter of an unbeaten 120. Tough crowd.
With the ball, DJ was at it again. Another four wickets takes him to 35 for the season, five clear at the top of the league standings with two to play.
A special mention too for youngster George Bird, who managed to get himself onto both sides of the board. Two wickets and an unbeaten 40, which is a pretty decent afternoon’s work, even if the result didn’t quite go the 3s’ way.
And now things get interesting.
A huge weekend lies ahead, with important games, plenty at stake for the First XI and the added subplot of a weather forecast that currently looks slightly dodgy.
Because obviously, after months of barely seeing a cloud, the weather has chosen now to start getting ideas.
Wouldn’t have it any other way.
