A middle order collapse resulted in a disappointing first defeat of the season for the Oaks at Four Marks on Saturday. Batting first, opener Scott Bright (44), led the way, but with the only other contributions of note coming from Dan Beckall (32) and Clive Welsman (20) the all out score of 157 was never likely to be enough.
This proved to be the case and despite the efforts from the Oakley bowlers, Four Marks eased to the total with four down; the wickets coming from L Van Dyk 2-26, Jack Green 1-20 and Clive Welsman 1-24
Oakley need to dust themselves down and show a bit more application when building a competitive total for the bowlers to defend; then the wins will start to come again.
