First Eleven Hit Form to Record Third Win.

The first 11 put last week’s setback at Over Wallop firmly behind them with an excellent performance against Longparish at a sunny Oakley Park on Saturday afternoon.

Bowling first, Tommy Holbrook (3 for 13) and George Lethaby (2-14)  produced a great opening spell to remove the top order, allowing Clive Welsman and Alex Brundle to polish of the middle and tail with two wickets apiece. Lethaby took the final wicket with a fortunate run out, deflecting a straight drive on to the stumps off his own bowling.

Andy Woodgate ensured Oakley made a steady start with Jack Green pushing the score board along before getting a shooter to claim his wicket when he looked well set and in a confident shot playing mood . A mini collapse followed but Chris Morris and Clive Welsman saw The Oaks home with five wickets to spare.

Captain Clive Welsman offered special thanks to three players from Farliegh Wallop for helping him out and they made a big contribution in the field with Rob Dimond behind the stumps and Alastair Woodgate chasing and retrieving to all parts.
