The Oaks are BACK and officially up and running for the new season!
New committee? Check.
A few fresh faces? Check.
Selection headaches? Oh yes… some traditions simply refuse to retire.
It’s brilliant to see so many familiar names sticking around, a real sign of the team spirit that makes this club what it is. At the same time, we’re excited to welcome new signing Nathan Scarff to The Oaks, and even more excited to see Mike Bryant back where he belongs after injury (we definitely felt that absence last year). Add in the return of Neil Robinson and things are already looking stronger.
With a semi-cooperative British weekend forecast on the horizon (we’ll take that as a win), we’ve got three friendlies lined up. The captains think they know their teams… but if history tells us anything, week one of the season usually has other ideas.
This season’s goals are simple:
- Get three teams out every week
- Start climbing back up the leagues after a slight dip in recent seasons
With some exciting young colts coming through and a great mix of experience, the signs are looking very promising.
These friendlies are all about shaking off the rust, getting some game time, and setting the tone for what we’re hoping will be a fantastic season.
Go well, everyone — and as always…Up the Oaks!
