Report from Emilia Buckhurst
It was a much cooler day for Cricket after the 30oC of last week. A team of 9 Oakley U11s took on 10 players from Yateley CC. It started well with wickets falling for Alex, Jacob and Andrew, with Ben and Finley both getting two wickets each.
The team also did some strong fielding, with Ben doing a splendid catch from a terrific ball from Ed, and Harry being effective in stopping the ball from reaching the boundaries. Our batting had some great moments too, with 4s from Alex and Ed, Jacob and Vivan getting two 4s and Will reaching the boundary a mighty 4 times!
However, these moments of brilliance did not prove enough. The Oaks scored a total of 128 for 13 wickets, whereas Yateley scored 128 for 9 wickets. Well done Yateley. We’ll get our revenge next time!
