It’s a Meat Loaf. Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad
The First XI looked in a spot of bother after being bowled out for 180, before fighting back with a cracking display in the field to dismiss Old Basing for 118 and claim a 62-run win. They are still right in the promotion hunt.
The 2s kept up their fine run of form with a fourth win in five, courtesy of a good bowling display followed by 60 from Kunal Solanki as they cruised home by six wickets.
The 3s lost at Odiham, but what a performance from 13-year-old George Rutt, who scored an excellent 35. Proper player, that lad. There were also three wickets for Ed Tucknott as the 3s gained some respectability.
So, two wins from three and a very decent Saturday all round.
And, of course, the day was rounded off by a quite sensational 13 not out from the former Chair. Some people spend years waiting for greatness. Others simply stroll to the crease and have it thrust upon them.
What a talent.
Honours Board to follow. Well done, all.
