A well-attended AGM marked the start of a new era at Oakley Cricket Club last night. After many years of dedicated service, long-time duo Bob Lethaby and Peter Holcroft have stepped aside from their roles as Chairman and Treasurer. The pair leave behind a fantastic legacy, and the club now looks forward to a fresh chapter with new leadership.
Kris Tucknott, formerly Colts Director, steps up as Chairman, while Ollie Rabley moves from his role as Bar Manager to take on the position of Treasurer. Both bring enthusiasm, deep knowledge of Oakley, and a desire to keep the grand old club moving forward.
Bob and Peter will both remain close to the club as Vice Presidents, continuing to offer advice and support when needed. Bob will also continue to look after the club’s social media.
Their decision to hand over the reins comes at the end of a successful era that included the completion of the bespoke net lanes last summer, a major milestone for Oakley. With the club’s infrastructure in such a strong place, both felt the time was right to pass the baton to the next generation of club leaders to take us to the next step.
There are also several other exciting internal appointments:
-
Mike Tiley becomes Second XI Captain
-
Jenny Fellows takes over as Ladies Captain
-
Paddy Saines steps into Kris’s former role as Colts Director
-
Stef Kaltner becomes Clubhouse Manager
Each brings new ideas and energy to their roles, ensuring the club continues to thrive both on and off the field.
After a challenging 2025 season on the pitch, there’s a real sense of optimism that these changes, combined with Oakley’s strong and loyal membership, will help the club bounce back stronger and move onto new challenges.
