Oakley Cricket Club – Photography & Social Media Policy
Purpose of This Policy
This policy ensures that all photography involving children at Oakley Cricket Club is safe, respectful, and compliant with safeguarding best practice. It protects young players, their families, and the club.
General Principles
• Children’s safety and privacy always come first.
• Parents and guardians must feel confident that images of their children are handled responsibly.
• No image should ever place a child at risk, identify personal information, or be used inappropriately.
Taking Photos at the Club
• Photography is permitted at club sessions, matches, and events only for personal use unless otherwise stated.
• Anyone taking photos must do so in a way that is respectful, non-intrusive, and appropriate.
• If the club designates a photographer for an event, this will be communicated in advance.
Sharing Photos on Social Media
• No photo containing another person’s child may be posted on social media without the explicit permission of that child’s parent or guardian.
• If you wish to share a photo that includes other children, you must obtain consent from their parent/guardian OR blur/obscure the other child’s face so they cannot be identified.
• Group photos may only be shared by the club’s official channels, following consent procedures.
Club Use of Photos
• The club will only use images of children on official platforms when parental/guardian consent has been obtained.
• Images will always be appropriate, safe, and non-identifying.
Prohibited Photography
• Images that identify a child’s location outside of club activities.
• Photos taken in changing rooms, toilets, or private areas.
• Photos that could be considered inappropriate, unsafe, or disrespectful.
Reporting Concerns
Any concerns about photography or misuse of images should be reported immediately to the Club Safeguarding Officer.
