Oakley Cricket Clubs Under 9s coach is Dan Beckell….

“I have been a member of Oakely cricket club for almost 30 years and I am ECB children’s level 2 coach. I started as a colt and played through all the age groups and into the men’s Sunday friendly team and Saturday league team, both of which I have captained.

It gives me great pleasure to see my son and daughter both playing for the club and enjoying their cricket and to see them developing strong friendships with all ages.

I think it is important that this wonderful club continues to thrive and the key to this is through a strong and friendly colts section.

I have been keen to give something back to a club which has been such an important part of my life and, as such, have become involved in coaching the under 13’s and 15’s.

My philosophy is that the game should be played with fun and respect.  Also, with hard work, everyone can improve.”
