End of Season Awards – Friday 8th September 2017

With the Red Carpet awaiting delivery and the designer Burton suits being prepared at Timpsons, Oakley will, once again, be hosting the the OCC AWARDS EVENING on Friday the 8th September.

Nearly Ready: Volunteers have worked hard to give Oakley CC a makeover for the awards night.

Hosted by irrepressible chairman, Bob Lethaby, it promises to be a platinum event, featuring an enviable plethora of A List celebrities including Gordon Scott, Clive Welsman and Deano James.

The guests are expected to start arriving from 7:00 PM when they will be greeted with free Prosecco ((£3:00 a glass) and crisps of varied flavours before the emotions flow and the awards are handed out by a tearful chairman.

Before the awards are handed out, Chairman, Bob Lethaby, will be showing an emotional video of the season highlights (not featuring the music of Elbow) and telling an obligatory joke about Deano or Scotty with special guest, Shannon ‘Will got 45’ Cherry, invited to wreck the punchline seconds before delivery.

After the awards (hand crafted in genuine Hampshire plastic) attendees will be able to relax, enjoy a few drinks and reminisce on the season gone by as Alex Brundle goes to town on the Jaegermeister and Brad Compton-Bearne demonstrates dance moves that are now common place in Tonic, a premier nightspot in the throbbing, cosmopolitan metropolis that is Basingstoke.

So, whether you are a player, supporter, wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, dog, or someone who just happens to be walking past wondering what all the fuss is about, please come and join us for what is always an entertaining jamboree of incoherent nonsense.

It is one of the final times we can raise money at Oakley CC, so please do come and support the humble old place that gives us all so much fun, both on and off the field. There is also a raffle with decent prizes for once.

Your club needs you all on Friday, so come and join in and celebrate what has been a memorable season at Oakley Park.

See you there!

Bob
